Please read these Terms and Conditions ("Terms") carefully before using the ByteWise mobile application ("the App") operated by the ByteWise team ("we", "us", or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use the App.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using ByteWise, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. These Terms apply to all users of the App.
2. Description of the App
ByteWise is a free, ad-supported educational application with bundled content that can be read offline. Its structured programming courses include:
- Data Structures & Algorithms (in C++, Java, and Python)
- System Design
- Git & Version Control
All course content is bundled within the App as markdown files and is rendered locally on the user's device. The App does not require an internet connection to access its core content.
The App displays advertising through Google AdMob when online. Advertising and related data processing are described in the Privacy Policy.
3. Eligibility
ByteWise is intended for users of all ages, including students. There is no minimum age requirement to use the App. If you are under the age of 18, you should review these Terms with a parent or guardian to ensure they understand and agree to them on your behalf.
4. User Conduct
You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App or any part of it.
- Copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App or its content without prior written consent.
- Attempt to extract the source code of the App, except where such restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
- Use the App in any manner that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair its functionality.
- Use the App for any illegal, harmful, or fraudulent purpose.
5. Intellectual Property
All content, features, and functionality of ByteWise — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, images, course materials, code examples, and the overall design — are the property of the ByteWise team and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
The course content is provided for personal, non-commercial educational use only. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any content within the App without our express written permission.
6. Open-Source Components
ByteWise uses certain open-source Flutter packages (such as flutter_markdown, google_fonts, provider, flutter_riverpod, go_router, shared_preferences, in_app_review, and url_launcher) that are subject to their own respective licences. Your use of these components is governed by the terms of those licences.
7. App Updates
We may from time to time release updates to ByteWise to improve functionality, fix bugs, or add new content. The App may check for available updates via Google Play's in-app update mechanism when connected to the internet. You are encouraged to keep the App up to date for the best experience.
8. Availability and Modifications
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the App.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to:
- Implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
- That the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
- That the content provided is accurate, complete, or current.
The educational content in ByteWise is intended as a learning resource and should not be considered a substitute for professional instruction or certification.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall the ByteWise team be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with:
- Your use of or inability to use the App.
- Any errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in the content.
- Any unauthorized access to or alteration of your device or data.
11. Third-Party Links and Services
The App may contain links to third-party websites or services (e.g., the developer's social media profile). These links are provided for convenience only. We do not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services. You access them at your own risk.
12. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it from your device. We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access to the App if we believe, in our sole discretion, that you are violating these Terms or applicable law.
13. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective Date" at the top of this document. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
15. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
